Hello Arthur,

Last summer I bought an Albin 25 in San Diego and had ir transported up to Northern California where I live. Recently I found out about your website and I am sending you the info on my boat for inclusion in your database.

Year built 1975 Hullnumber 2240 Model DL+ MS Owner Martin & Dorian Bol Homeport Isleton, California. Boatname SKOL

The boat came equipped with a sailing rig which I removed a few months later because of poor performance under sail.

If you or any other Albin owners would more info on my boat or on boating in general in Northern California please contact me at my

e-mail address martindorian@att.net.

Furthermore I would like to compliment you on having a very nice and informative website.

Best wishes, Martin Bol

Dear Jonquil and Jock,
thanks for your mail which you sent to our website about the Albin 25. Of course we will help you as much as we can!
Your questions:
a) the headroom near the galley is about 1.75/1.80 mtr.
b) condensation: just one simple answer: no!
c) osmosis: also only one answer: no!
d) assist when you want to look after an good Albin 25 in Holland, yes of course we can help you. There are nearly always some boats for sale in Holland, but their condition can be very different. Don't forget these boats are about 40 years old. Many owners however built in an new engine, and it is not recomandable (since you ask for a boat which is not a repair project) to buy a boat which still has the old Albin engine, although: now and than there are boats for sale which are in a good condition, but still have this old engine. If the price is well, you could think about mounting an new engine. Another possibility is, off course, to buy a repair project (cheap) and let all the work do (if you want: by us) and than you have an Albin 25 which is as good as new.
The quality of the hull/GFK is always very good, Albin was in those days an excellent boat builder. The sailing characteristics are absolutely excellent in average to its length. You can find Albin's 25 all over the world, especially in Scandinavia, Holland, USA and Canada (where they are even used on the ocean!!).
If you have more questions, please don't hesitate to contact us!!
Kind regards,
Kring van Albin Motorbootvaarders
Arthur Verheijen

Enjoyed your web site.

Thanks for the effort to put it all up on the net.
I have an Albin 25 #1602 in central Texas! Her last name was "Knotfast". I have not yet renamed her.
She has been repowered with a Westerbeke 42b. I bought her in the state of Maine in 2008. She had been in Maine for 25 years.

I am currently rebuilding her interior.

Attached is a picture (with a lobster pot screen over the prop) taken with my brothers. I am in the blue shirt.

Thanks again
